It’s LGBTQIA+ Pride Month and several airlines in the United States and around the world are showcasing their Pride-themed aircraft. I am one to criticize companies for jumping on the Pride bandwagon each June and adding some rainbows to logos and websites without embodying the true support needed. While I feel this could veer into that territory, it also brings visibility to the masses, which is also important.
Alaska Airlines
In June 2021, Alaska Airlines unveiled an Airbus A320 with “FLY WITH PRIDE” painted on the side, rainbow-colored planes on the fuselage, and a rainbow pattern over the engines.
Avianca
Avianca introduced a Pride-themed livery in 2020. The Airbus A320-200 replaced its traditional orange-and-red color palette for a rainbow pattern. The carrier said the livery “was symbolic of a tribute to equity, inclusion, and diversity.”
JetStar
Back in December 2023, Australian low-cost carrier, JetStar debuted its new rainbow colored pride livery just ahead of Melbourne’s annual queer arts and culture festival: Midsumma. The words “Flying with Pride” and a rainbow star livery adorn the Airbus A320 aircraft
Loganair have wrapped a plane in classic pride colours – the Embraer 145 aircraft will be flying around their network shortly

Loganair
Loganair is the largest regional airline in the United Kingdom. Last year, Loganair painted one of its Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft in Pride colors. The 49-seat aircraft sports the airline’s iconic Tartan Tail alongside the rainbow flag.
Lufthansa
In 2022, one of Lufthansa’s Airbus A320neo aircraft was repainted to become “Lovethansa.” The German airline painted the aircraft in the colors of the rainbow Pride flag. The welcome panel at the entrance has a special rainbow design and when looking out of the aircraft window, hearts in rainbow colors can be seen on the winglets. Interior headrest covers are also decked out in rainbow colors.
DHL
While not a passenger airline, DHL has displayed Pride liveries across several of its aircraft for the past several years. The latest Airbus A300 features rainbow stripes across its tail. This is all part of the cargo carrier’s “Delivered With pride” initiative.
Anthony’s Take: While this is done partially for the exposure and publicity, it’s good to see these airlines also helping with LGBTQIA+ visibility. Happy Pride!

I’m proud to be straight, and white.
Uhhhh, okay?
Delta… the worst airline in the USA based on the Human Rights Campaign Equality score…
I’m very proud to not take part in any of this stupidity. If you’re gay … great .. happy for you. I won’t discriminate , we can be friends and I’m happy you have rights. What is going on with all this rainbow pride stuff is disgusting. It’s makes me sick that society accepts this way of kind of celebrating what gender you have sex with.
But why?

Respect to both!
Pointless pandering. In every country where those airlines are based, homosexuals have all the same rights as everyone else and are not oppressed in any way – in fact they’re celebrated. So how about these airlines focus on raising awareness and supporting something actually useful and meaningful to the world? There are all sorts of diseases, poverty, and actual oppressed people who could use awareness and support.
Does LH fly a “pride plane” into Saudi Arabia and Iran?
