Canadian carrier, WestJet, announced yesterday that it’s bringing back nonstop flights between Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) for summer 2025. WestJet last flew this route in 2022.

In addition to France’s capital city, a recently enhanced codeshare partnership with Air France will providing passengers seamless connections to 52 cities across Europe. The addition of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) comes shortly after WestJet announced flights to Dublin Airport (DUB) and Edinburgh Airport (EDI) next summer.

Andy Gibbons, WestJet, Vice-President, External Affairs, said:

Today’s announcement in Halifax underscores our ongoing commitment to Nova Scotia and our incredible airport partners as we building the city’s leisure network with seamless seasonal connectivity to and from Europe. Our comprehensive summer schedule will provide the communities of Nova Scotia with affordable choice and convenience to fulfill their diverse business and leisure travel needs, through an enhanced transatlantic network.”

Last year, I wrote about WestJet declining to pursue a joint venture with Delta Air Lines. While it might not have locked that in, it still has a partnership with the Atlanta-based carrier. Delta Medallion members receive their allotted Medallion baggage allowance, lounge access, priority boarding, priority check-in, preferred seats, priority bag drop, priority baggage handling, priority security, and priority transfer desk access when flying with WestJet (and vice versa for WestJet elite members).

Anthony’s Take: I flew WestJet between Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) (more here). I also flew Air Canada Rouge and it just beat WestJet by a little bit. I’d fly the airline again and love that I can credit flights to Delta. I’ll be keeping an eye on prices to Paris as flights from Canada can be a bit cheaper.
