Virgin Atlantic has updated its schedule for this coming winter. The British airline will offer fewer flights to/from New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK), more to/from San Francisco International Airport (SFO), cut service to St. Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), and add flights to/from Velana International Airport (MLE) in The Maldives.

Lots of Changes in the United States

Virgin currently flies up to 6x daily between New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR). This will drop to 4x daily on November 25th. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) will see more flights to/from London Heathrow Airport (LHR). Virgin will offer 2x daily flights beginning on April 28th (these currently run 1x daily).

Goodbye, St. Lucia

Virgin will cease flying between St. Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR) this coming winter. The seasonal route was operated 3x weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays.

More Maldives

Travelers to The Maldives will be excited to see Virgin bumping up its flights from 3x to 7x weekly. The route between Velana International Airport (MLE) in The Maldives and London Heathrow Airport (LHR) began in October 2023.

Anthony’s Take: I have never flown Virgin Atlantic and the carrier has long been on my list. I might have to check out the flight from Orlando International Airport (MCO) one of these days.
