United Airlines is set to announce some new routes at 8:00 AM EST today. The cat is apparently out of the bag on one of them as it has been leaked that Adelaide Airport (ADL) will see nonstop service from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) 3x weekly beginning on December 11th.

As is the case many times, aviation watchdog @IshrionA broke the news of this new route. This will be the first and only nonstop from the United States to Adelaide Airport (ADL). United will use its Boeing 787-9 aircraft that offers 48 Polaris (Business Class), 21 Premium Plus, 39 Economy Plus®, and 149 Economy Class seats. This will be the fourth city served nonstop by United Airlines. Brisbane Airport (BNE), Melbourne Airport (MEL), and Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) are the other cities served.

I’ll be watching for the announcement and reporting back on the other routes.

Anthony’s Take: I’ve said it many times, but I’ll repeat myself. United has the best international route network of any US carrier and it just keeps getting better. I can’t wait to see what other cities are announced.
