United Airlines has added an element of fun to its international route announcements over the past few years. It has released videos with clues as to where the carrier is planning to fly next. An Indiana Jones-esque character appears in the latest video, but the clues as to what is being added are rather scant.
Who’s ready to play “Where in the world will United fly next?”
Drop your guesses below and come back tomorrow, March 7, at 8:00 a.m. ET for the reveal of our new international routes. pic.twitter.com/j3GcK5NmpQ

The video above offers the following clues:
- A Boeing 787-10 is seen departing what appears to be Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and heads east. Could these be a new European city or something more exotic? This aircraft has great capacity and range, so it could be Africa or someplace further than Europe.
- Two Boeing 737-800s are seen departing what looks like George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and somewhere else indiscernible. This could indicate a new Caribbean or Central American route.
United has already announced its summer schedule, so these adds will likely come in the fall or winter. The full announcement will happen tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM EST.
Anthony’s Take: I’ll be tuning in tomorrow morning to see what United is adding. The airline has the best international route network of any US carrier and it keeps on getting better.
