United Airlines flight UA1533 was en route from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) when it was decided that the Boeing 787-10 should divert to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) over “a security issue.” The flight landed safely around 7:40 AM today and all 202 passengers deplaned without incident.
On a united flight from Newark to LAX — someone allegedly went into the bathroom and made a bomb threat on the bathroom window and now we’ve made an emergency landing in Chicago. We forced to leave all of our stuff on the plane and have no idea what is happening next pic.twitter.com/6P6BLLHa2l

USA Today reported and the tweet above suggests that a bomb threat was allegedly made in the lavatory bathroom and that forced the emergency landing. United did not disclose the security issue, but said that local law enforcement met the aircraft upon arrival.
The plane looks like it continued on and got the passengers there safely (although delayed).
Anthony’s Take: It’s good to see that there was no issue here and that all passengers were safe. I’m sure crew kept the situation quiet, but passengers had to be questioning why they were diverting to Chicago. Glad they’re all safe.

I wonder if passengers will get some of their stuff stolen because they were forced to leave it on the plane?
