United Airlines announced this week that it has added a new route to its winter schedule. The Chicago-based carrier will soon connect Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) with six of its hubs. Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) was just announced for this winter.
United will run daily flights between Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with 16 First Class, 54 Economy Plus, and 96 Economy seats. The route will run from December 19th through April 30th. In addition to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), United will connect Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) with:
- Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) (daily; runs from September 26th to at least April 18th as that is the last day currently bookable via United)
- Denver International Airport (DEN) (up to 3x daily; year-round service)
- Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) (up to 2x daily; runs from October 27th to at least April 18th as that is the last day currently bookable via United)
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) (daily; runs from October 27th to at least April 18th as that is the last day currently bookable via United)
- San Francisco International Airport (SFO) (up to 5x daily; runs from June 1st to at least April 18th as that is the last day currently bookable via United)
With these additions, United will fly to Palm Springs up to 14x daily from all six cities. Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) will offer service to 31 destinations nonstop across airlines.
Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, said:
This service will be the first connection ever between Washington, DC and Palm Springs and create unparalleled access to Palm Springs from the East Coast and Europe through one of United’s fastest growing hubs. We pride ourselves in offering unique, world-class destinations and are excited to offer our customers more service to beautiful Greater Palm Springs.”
Anthony’s Take: Palm Springs is such a great winter getaway. It’s awesome that United is offering so many seats to this desert oasis this winter.
