United Airlines arguably has the best route network in the United States with more than 210 destinations in the US and 120 international cities. Now, the Chicago-based carrier is adding nine flights from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Denver International Airport (DEN), Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

All of these flights will be operated by Skywest (operating as United Express) on Embraer E175 aircraft with 12 First Class, 16 Economy Plus®, and 48 Economy Class seats. American Airlines also flies between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and both Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK) and Wilmington International Airport (ILM).

Denver Airport

Denver International Airport (DEN) will see one new addition:

  • Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) (daily; starts on March 31st)

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) will have four routes restored. These include:

  • Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) (2x daily; starts on June 27th)
  • Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) (3x daily; starts on June 27th)
  • State College Regional Airport (SCE) (2x daily; starts on June 27th)

The Philadelphia flights will use an Embraer E175 aircraft with 12 First Class, 32 Economy Plus®, and 28 Economy Class seats (flown by Mesa Air).

United giveth and it taketh away. With these four routes resuming out of Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), the following will be cut after June 26th from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR):

  • Harrisburg International Airport (MDT)
  • Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
  • State College Regional Airport (SCE)
  • Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport (AVP)

Anthony’s Take: These short, regional flights fill in some gaps and shift service to a more reasonable distance.

Following the comment above, I believe “Travis City Cherry Capital Airport (TCV)” should be “Traverse” and “TVC” :).

The Commute Air flying has to be on the 145, not the 135 right? They no longer fly any of their 135s as far as I know.
