Turkish Airlines has officially opened its newest lounge at Edinburgh Airport (EDI) to further enhance the carrier’s luxury offering for travelers in Scotland. The lounge opened on December 10th and marked the debut of Turkish Airlines’ eighth lounge outside Türkiye and first in Europe.

The new lounge measures around 7,244 square feet and accommodates up to 149 guests. It features a buffet with a Turkish pide service available during lunch and dinner, a relaxation area with TVs, Wi-Fi, and two dedicated prayer rooms. Additional features include an accessible restroom, baby care room, and flight information screens.

The lounge is located on Level 2 near Gate 16 and open to Turkish Airlines Business Class passengers and Miles&Smiles Elite, Elite Plus, and Elite Corporate Club members traveling in any class. It’s also accessible as a Star Alliance Gold member. Miles&Smiles Premier Visa Signature cardholders may also access the lounge (along with guests holding a paid lounge membership). It’s open from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.

Turkish Airlines currently operates 10x weekly flights between Edinburgh Airport (EDI) and Istanbul Airport (IST). With service to 356 destinations across 132 countries, Turkish continues to cement its status as a major global connector.

Turkish Airlines Chief Operations Officer, M. Akif Konar, said:

The opening of our new Turkish Airlines Lounge at Edinburgh Airport marks an important milestone for our airline. As our first abroad lounge in Europe and our eighth outside of Türkiye, this investment demonstrates our deep commitment to our European operations where we already possess a strong presence as the best airline of the continent. Looking ahead, we will continue to build on our presence in the region and bringing our award-winning hospitality closer to travelers here.”

Anthony’s Take: The Turkish Airlines Lounge at Istanbul Airport (IST) is excellent and it’s great to see Turkish continue to expand its lounge network in Europe.
