TownePlace Suites by Marriott celebrated the 500th hotel under the brand with the opening of the TownePlace Suites Richmond Colonial Heights in Virginia (which is also the state where the brand first originated). That opening was 26 years ago and since then, it has positioned itself as an industry leader in the all-suite, extended-hotel model.
All TownePlace Suites properties offer pet-friendly accommodations with all-suite floor plans that include full kitchens and upgraded outdoor spaces. TownePlace Suites properties are well-suited for families, business travelers, and all guests looking for an affordable place to stay for extended periods of time.
TownePlace Suites Richmond Colonial Heights is located just south of Richmond, VA. It offers 131 rooms including spacious studios and one-bedroom suites. These are all equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, full kitchens, and customized Elfa closet systems from The Container Store. I love the Elfa system and we have a lot of its pieces in our closets.
All guests are provided a complimentary hot breakfast and access to a full-service lobby bar, onsite laundry, as well as stainless steel Weber Grills in the hotel’s outdoor patio area. These are complete with tools, spices, and seasonings for guest usage. TownePlace Suites Richmond Colonial Heights offers direct access to the Appomattox River Trail and is located near Virginia State University and Ft. Lee Gregg Adams Army base.
Diana Plazas, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader of Select Brands at Marriott International, said:
TownePlace Suites has experienced exponential growth and success as a hotel brand of choice for modern-day travelers, and TownePlace Suites Richmond Colonial Heights is a remarkable addition to the portfolio. We will continue to grow our footprint to provide guests with the opportunity to live uninterrupted.”
Anthony’s Take: I stayed at the TownePlace Suites Wareham Bay in Massachussets this summer. While it wasn’t fancy, it served our needs (review here). Congrats, TownePlace Suites on 500 locations.
