Caption by Hyatt Downtown Nashville – The Gulch opened today. This is the second US location for one of Hyatt’s newest brands (the other is in Memphis). The hotel is located in the Gulch neighborhood of downtown Nashville near the West End and a short walk to Broadway Street where the city’s best shopping, restaurants, bars, and live entertainment can be found.
The hotel offers 210 guestrooms, 2,200 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, a fitness center, and flexible common spaces for working, socializing, and hosting small events. For dining, Café Between offers an all-day coffee and cocktail lounge with “local fare with a Southern flare.”
The guestrooms are accented with bold colors and Nashville-inspired décor. This pays homage to the rich history of the Gulch neighborhood, which is a former industrial and railroad hub that is now transformed into a modern destination with the city’s top restaurants and shopping. The design also incorporates numerous railroad-inspired elements throughout the property. Headboard murals are inspired by train yards, while the corridor walls feature large sketch-style drawings of trains. Even the stenciled room numbers are a nod to boxcar numbering.
The Caption by Hyatt brand is a modern hotel offering that is designed to be all about community. Caption by Hyatt hotels “hire local, buy local, and vibe local.” This includes everything from open-mic nights to pop-up art installations. At the heart of each Caption by Hyatt hotel is an all-day spot where guests can eat, drink, work, and relax.
Anthony’s Take: There is no shortage of hotel brands with new ones seeming to pop up all the time under the Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott umbrellas. Caption by Hyatt looks fun and playful. I’ll be watching as the locations grow and will want this for my Brand Explorer award with Hyatt.
