Last month, I wrote about the opening of the St. Regis Belgrade. The hotel opened on November 1st after several delays. Now, Serbia’s capital is about to get another luxury hotel with the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Serbia in 2027.
I want to go back to Belgrade. The city was inexpensive and fun to explore. When we visited last a few years ago, we stayed at the Metropol Palace. It was part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, but has since left the brand and Marriott Bonvoy® altogether. We were upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which was incredible. The Ritz-Carlton Belgrade will provide another option for visitors with a 193 guestrooms and suites, The Ritz-Carlton Club experience, two distinct dining venues, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, spa, and more than 18,000 square feet of meeting and events space.
Sandeep Walia, Chief Operating Officer, Middle East & Luxury, Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott, said:
Serbia continues to grow as an important business and leisure destination, and the signing of The Ritz-Carlton, Belgrade reflects our commitment to expand our portfolio of brands and experiences in its progressive capital and the broader region. We look forward to working with Danube Riverside d.o.o. Beograd to provide travelers to the country and local guests alike with Ritz-Carlton’s legendary service, thoughtful innovation and distinctive luxury experiences.”
The hotel will be located on Nikola Tesla Boulevard along the Danube river front and in close proximity to government institutions and the business district. The location also provides convenient access to Stark Arena, Sava congress centre, and Belgrade’s old town.
Anthony’s Take: Belgrade will offer a good number of luxury Marriott-portfolio options with combination of the recently opened St. Regis and the upcoming Ritz-Carlton.
