On April 8th, when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, the sun will be blocked for a short period of time. This event will be visible to more than 31 million Americans in Texas, the Midwest, and parts of the East Coast. This is the last of its kind eclipse in the contiguous US until 2044.
Recently, I wrote about Delta Air Lines offering additional flights tomorrow for the solar eclipse (more here) and how the carrier has partnered with Warby Parker to provide complimentary eclipse glasses in stores and select Delta Sky Clubs®. While watching the eclipse tomorrow, you’ll need some tunes. Here are my picks for songs to listen to while watching the sun temporarily fade away.
10. “Here Comes the Sun” (The Beatles)
9. “Champagne Supernova” (Oasis)
8. “Bad Moon Rising” (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
7. “Ray of Light” (Madonna)
6. “Man on the Moon” (R.E.M.)
5. “Blister in the Sun” (Violent Femmes)
4. “House of the Rising Sun” (The Animals)
3. “Sunglasses at Night” (Corey Hart)
2. “Black Hole Sun” (Soundgarden)
1. “Total Eclipse of the Heart” (Bonnie Tyler)
Anthony’s Take: Happy viewing tomorrow. What songs should be added to this playlist?
