The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas® has been one of my favorite hotels on the Las Vegas Strip since it opened in 2010. While it has been participating in a limited way in the Marriott Bonvoy® program for several years, it was not part of MGM Rewards (even after MGM acquired the real estate assets last year). That changes on February 1st.
Members of the Identity loyalty program will soon be able to earn and redeem points across all 20 of MGM’s properties in Las Vegas and across the US. Identity members can continue to play and earn with Identity until February. At that time, their earnings will determine their MGM Rewards Tier Status for 2024. Identity members will retain their offers and benefits through January 31st and all Identity Points will carry over to MGM Rewards. If a member is currently a member of MGM Rewards, the combined earnings from both programs will be used to determine Tier Status.
The Cosmopolitan’s integration into MGM Rewards comes shortly after MGM Resorts’ announcement of an exclusive long-term strategic licensing agreement with Marriott International (after the Hyatt partnership ended) and the creation of MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy. The MGM Collection launches in October 2023, and includes 17 of MGM’s resorts, which will offer more than 40,000 rooms. In addition to being part of the MGM Collection, The Cosmopolitan will continue under Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection Hotels brand.
Steve Zanella, Chief Commercial Officer for MGM Resorts, said:
Welcoming The Cosmopolitan into MGM Rewards is an important and exciting milestone in the evolution of our loyalty program experience. The Cosmopolitan will add an entirely new set of ways for gaming and non-gaming customers to enjoy all of the unforgettable, exceptional moments MGM Resorts and Las Vegas have to offer.”
Anthony’s Take: I’m excited to be able to earn credit with MGM Rewards and can’t wait to see what additional benefits come from the Marriott Bonvoy® partnership. Looking forward to staying at The Cosmopolitan and Bellagio again in the future.
