I have been flying United lots this year. I’m already more than halfway to requalifying for Premier 1K®. As I have been traveling, I’ve made it a point to taste test as many of the First Class dishes that United is serving as possible. I’ve tried many of the breakfast offerings including Scrambled Eggs (review here), Tomato and Kale Baked Egg (review here), Banana Bread Pudding (review here), and Peach Cobbler Crepes (review here). One that I had not tasted until today was the Monterey Jack and Red Pepper Egg White Bites. I’m not sure why I waited so long as I really liked the breakfast I had flying from Tampa International Airport (TPA) to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD).

The Monterey Jack and Red Pepper Egg White Bites are described as being served “with fire roasted pepper sauce, charred tomato, roasted fingerling potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, and chicken apple sausage.” These are available for pre-orders only.

The tray also contained a fruit salad, a Chobani Greek Vanilla yogurt, and a croissant that was shockingly not crushed (these usually look like someone sat on them). This is a hearty breakfast (although it is on the healthier side compared to others). I liked all of the flavors and the sauce took what I thought would be boring egg whites and made them really flavorful.

Anthony’s Take: United continues to win praise from me for its much-improved First Class catering. I never thought I’d be saying that, but it’s good to see the investment being made and the passenger experience continuing to improve.
