While flying between Tampa International Airport (TPA) to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) yesterday, I had the opportunity to try a new menu item. Delta Air Lines recently added the Breakfast Rice Bowl to the pre-order menu and after trying it, I’m happy to see the new choice.

The Breakfast Rice Bowl is described as “scrambled eggs, Gochujang breakfast sausage, garlic rice, and sautéed spinach.” This is not something that is typical for an American breakfast as it has rice and the savory, sweet, and spicy fermented Korean chili paste known as Gochujang.

The meal started with a snack basket (which I find odd for breakfast). I grabbed some cookies for later. I did not order a beverage as I carried on my own Starbucks.

The tray included a yogurt parfait as well as a croissant. I liked the flavors of the pork and the rice. This was a nice change to the usual eggs.
Anthony’s Take: Delta gets credit for offering up something different and delicious. I will definitely be ordering this selection again in the future.
