Oh, United. I am really trying to keep an open mind around your in-flight catering, but you’re not making it easy. While flying this morning from Tampa International Airport (TPA) to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), I decided to try the Banana Bread Pudding. It looked great in the picture on the app, but what I got was a bit different.
The Banana Bread Pudding is described as being served with “fresh berries and vanilla creme anglaise.” What I was served lacked both of those toppings. It was dry and mildly sweet. I’m not sure what happened with the catering here, but the flight attendants were apologetic about having to serve it to me. They offered a snack box as well as a $100 ETC as an apology. That is great in-flight damage recovery and I commend the crew for their proactive actions.
The tray came with a fruit salad, a Chobani Greek Vanilla yogurt, and a croissant. These were all fine.
Anthony’s Take: I almost feel like the caterers were auditioning for an episode of Nailed It! They attempted to recreate the photo, but left out some key ingredients. This one was lacking, like my almost Mezzi Rigatoni last week.

I’ve had it with the toppings and fruit and it is much better, though very sweet. They just forgot to load the extras I guess in your case, bad on the catering/loading supervisor. Great response by the FA’s though!
