I received an email earlier today offering Platinum Pro® status with American Airlines for four months on a complimentary basis. This was sent from World of Hyatt and the targeted offer would see status start immediately through American’s Instant Status Pass™ promotion.

Status Promotion AAdvantage

Per the email, I will receive complimentary AAdvantage Platinum Pro® status when I register by September 5th. The Instant Status Pass™ promotion can be extended for up to a year if I meet the reduced Loyalty Point activity required for each level. In order to extend status, I would need to earn the following:

  • 25,000 Loyalty Points: Platinum®
  • 42,000 Loyalty Points: Platinum Pro®
  • 67,000 Loyalty Points: Executive Platinum®

Normally, status is earned over the course of 12 months, which starts on March 1st. The required Loyalty Points for each level are:

  • 40,000 Loyalty Points: Gold
  • 75,000 Loyalty Points: Platinum®
  • 125,000 Loyalty Points: Platinum Pro®
  • 200,000 Loyalty Points: Executive Platinum®

This promotion is granting status instantly and then letting you keep it by earning 1/3 or what would essentially be needed over a four-month period.

The offer is targeted, so there is no link to share. Check your email to see if you have been selected for this offer.

Anthony’s Take: I will not be taking advantage of this offer as my flying is currently focused on reaching Delta Diamond Medallion, United Premier 1K®, and Spirit Gold status. I also have British Airways Gold status from another match and I want to be able to maintain that if possible (I’ll need to take a trip to London in Business Class before November).

Got the targeted email for this too. But I am not sure I am even eligible since it has something about not being able to do the Instant Status Pass if having done it within the previous 24 months. So now I have to see if I’ve done it within the previous 24 months.
