TAP Air Portugal suspended service from Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) back in October 2023 after the tragic attack at a music festival. This will be returning 5x weekly starting on March 29th.
The Portuguese carrier will fly this route using Airbus A320neo aircraft. These offer 168 seats and can be customized to add Business Class (European-style with the center seat blocked) based upon demand. TAP joins a host of airlines in Europe and the United States that have resumed service to Israel with many of them returning to levels seen prior to 2023.
Delta Air Lines will restart flights to/from both Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in 2026. United Airlines just brought back Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to/from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) this past November.
Anthony’s Take: It’s great to see service resume almost 2.5 years after it was paused. Israel will see tons of flights return next year and potentially some new ones as well.
