Taiwan-based STARLUX Airlines has announced a major expansion of its codeshare partnership with Alaska Airlines. This significantly increases connectivity across the United States. With the addition of 12 new US cities, STARLUX now offers seamless links from Taipei to 20 destinations across North America (accessible through its international gateways in San Francisco and Seattle). Reservations for these new connections are now available through STARLUX’ booking channels.

The newly added cities include:

  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
  • Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC)
  • Boise Airport (BOI)
  • Kansas City International Airport (MCI)
  • Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP)
  • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
  • Orlando International Airport (MCO)
  • Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
  • Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)
  • Spokane International Airport (GEG)
  • Tampa International Airport (TPA)
  • Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

These build on the initial eight codeshare destinations that have been operating since 2024, including:

  • Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)
  • Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)
  • Denver International Airport (DEN)
  • Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
  • Portland International Airport (PDX)
  • Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC)
  • San Diego International Airport (SAN)

The enhanced partnership offers customers streamlined booking, coordinated check-in, and smooth transfers, extending STARLUX’ premium long-haul experience across Alaska Airlines’ domestic network. Travelers can connect easily from STARLUX flights into Asia (where the airline currently serves 29 destinations including Japan, Macau, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore) through its US routes to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Ontario International Airport (ONT), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

The announcement comes as STARLUX prepares to further expand its transpacific service with a new route to/from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) that launches on January 15th (enabled by its partnership with American Airlines). The Phoenix gateway will link STARLUX passengers to American’s broad US and Latin American network and complements its collaboration with Alaska Airlines.

Beyond passenger service, STARLUX is also pursuing additional interline agreements for both passengers and cargo to underscore its strategy to build a comprehensive and competitive global network. COSMILE members, the airline’s loyalty program, are able to redeem miles on Alaska-operated flights.

Alex Judson, Managing Director of Partnerships & International at Alaska Airlines, said:

We’re excited to expand our collaboration with STARLUX to connect even more of our network to its long-haul service from Taipei. With seamless access through Seattle and San Francisco, this next phase strengthens our shared commitment to offering travelers more choice, convenience, and premium service across the Pacific.”

 STARLUX CEO, Glenn Chai, added:

Alaska Airlines has always been an important partner for STARLUX. This new chapter in our partnership not only strengthens our North American network, but also gives travelers more flexibility and efficiency when flying to Taipei and beyond. COSMILE members can now even redeem mileage on Alaska flights—making every journey smoother, smarter, and more rewarding.”

Anthony’s Take: With its luxury boutique approach to service and rapidly growing North American footprint, STARLUX continues to position Taipei as a key hub for luxury travel between the United States and Asia. This airline has long been on my list and I need to fly it soon.
