Airline trading cards have become increasingly popular over the past few years. Frontier Airlines released holiday ones, Hawaiian showcased its aircraft, Delta had some fun ones for its centennial, and Alaska handed them out for World Pilots’ Day. Now, Spirit Airlines is adding some fun for aviation fans and frequent flyers with the launch of its first-ever trading cards.

The inaugural trading card collection is sponsored by Airbus and highlights the evolution of Spirit Airlines’ all-Airbus fleet. The first edition includes six cards. Each features an aircraft type that has played a role in the airline’s growth through the years. The lineup spans the A319ceo, A320ceo, A320neo, A321ceo, and A321neo to showcase both legacy aircraft and the newest additions to Spirit’s modern fleet.

Beyond the aircraft themselves, the cards offer a visual journey through Spirit’s branding history. From the airline’s original gray-scale brick livery to the bright yellow design that has become one of the most recognizable looks in the sky. The collection captures how Spirit has transformed its image through the years.

The trading cards are a nice way to engage customers. A routine flight will offer a small but memorable experience. For aviation enthusiasts, these serve as miniature snapshots of commercial aircraft evolution. For casual travelers, they add an unexpected element of entertainment that reinforces the airline’s personality.

Anthony’s Take: With this first edition now taking off, Spirit Airlines has created a collectible that blends aviation history, brand storytelling, and a bit of in-flight excitement. I can’t wait to get one on my next Spirit flight.

I wish they would introduce a new spirit where they call back us the furloughed flight attendants that are not wanted by the other airlines and we bring this airline back to the top! Instead we are here at home looking at the new trading cards and delays and cancellations that could have been prevented if some of us who love to work were back there flying. That would be great 👍 but imagine instead we see how money is being incorrectly spent delays and cancellations left and right and not enough FAs to cover flights, when that money could be used to bring us back! 😔 and keep the flights moving and going with zero cancellations.

That’s the 1st thing I’d worry about as the ship sinks but Kodos for the positive attitude! Maybe charging for a photo op in the ‘cockpit” with the kids & the card, that might just save there airline!
