Spirit Airlines announced today that it is adding the first nonstop flight to the Caribbean from San Antonio International Airport (SAT). Starting on April 9th, Spirit flyers will see 4x weekly service to San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU).
In addition to Spirit offering the first flight to the Caribbean from San Antonio International Airport (SAT), the airline offers nonstop service to eight other airports. These include:
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) (daily)
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) (daily)
- Las. Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) (2x to 3x daily)
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) (daily)
- Miami International Airport (MIA) (4x weekly; seasonally)
- Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) (3x weekly; seasonally)
- Orlando International Airport (MCO) (3x to 4x weekly)
- Tampa International Airport (4x weekly)

Anthony’s Take: Spirit has been adding quite a few new routes recently. Yesterday, I wrote about its new flights to Columbia and Chattanooga. It’s great to see the airline working to find a path post bankruptcy.
