Spirit Airlines is tinkering with its schedule once again and adding four new and returning routes to the map. These are vacation destinations and I’m happy to see that Spirit is continuing to connect Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) with Florida.

New and returning routes include:

  • Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) to/from Miami International Airport (MIA) (4x weekly; starts on August 13th)
  • Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) to/from John Wayne Airport (SNA) (1x daily; starts on August 13th)
  • Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) to/from Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) (2x weekly; starts on August 14th)
  • Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) to/from San Diego International Airport (SAN) (3x weekly; starts on August 14th)

The addition of Miami International Airport (MIA) brings the total number of routes that Spirit flies to Florida to six. Other cities include:

  • Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
  • Orlando International Airport (MCO)
  • Palm Beach International Airport (PBI)
  • Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW)
  • Tampa International Airport (TPA)

I have had conventions in Atlantic City and the nonstop flight has been perfect when heading from Tampa International Airport (TPA). Spirit flies solo on the Miami International Airport (MIA) route, but the others have Delta or Southwest already flying them.

Anthony’s Take: I love that Spirit continues to tweak its map (like all airlines) and add low-cost options to so many vacation spots.
