Laissez les bons temps rouler! Spirit Airlines will boost its Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) service during Mardi Gras week with nonstop flights from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Miami International Airport (MIA) resuming and increased frequencies from both Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). The added capacity will operate February 12th to 18th.

Nonstop service from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Miami International Airport (MIA) will return for the weeklong window, while flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) will increase to 3x daily frequencies. The temporary additions supplement Spirit’s existing New Orleans network. It currently connects New Orleans International Airport (MSY) with:

  • Cancún International Airport (CUN)
  • Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
  • Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)
  • Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW)
  • Tampa International Airport (TPA)

Andrea Lusso, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines, said:

New Orleans is a lively destination year-round, but the city really takes excitement to new heights during Mardi Gras. Our expanded schedule to New Orleans this February gives our Guests even more nonstop options to travel to the Big Easy and join in on the Mardi Gras fun.”

Anthony’s Take: New Orleans for Mardi Gras is a wild time. Spirit will make it easier for people to get there and party this year.
