A Southwest flight from New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Kansas City International Airport (MCI) had not even departed the gate when chaos broke out and a passenger began to assault another one because she did not want to sit next to a woman that she labeled too fat. Her aggression, grabbing the other passenger’s hair, spitting, and subsequent lashing out at both crew and other flyers got her restrained with zip ties before being arrested by Port Authority Police officers.
Leanna Perry has been identified as the 32-year-old passenger seen in the videos above. The New York City-based artist and fashion illustrator can be seen kicking at Southwest employees, spitting, and be generally aggressive with everyone around her. And, that’s after the group was able to get her to let go of the other woman’s hair. Once Perry was removed from the aircraft, she allegedly spit on an officer and kicked him in the leg as she was being placed into a wheelchair while handcuffed.
Perry was reportedly charged with resisting arrest, attempted assault on a police officer, harassment, and disorderly conduct. She now has a court appearance scheduled for September 3rd. Hopefully, the woman who got the real brunt of the attack also files a civil suit.
Anthony’s Take: Another intoxicated passenger who showed her true colors once on the aircraft. Her behavior is disgusting and she’ll hopefully get an appropriate sentence for all that she is on video doing.
