United runs promos every quarter that it calls Mile Play. These are customized and have varying offers to earn bonus miles ranging from mediocre to great. I had never been selected to participate in one, until now.
I have only been on one United flight to date in 2023. I made the conscious decision to shift my flying last year and in 2023, I’ve been focused on Delta Air Lines and getting to Diamond Medallion® as well as a few flights on Spirit (my experience, here) and Breeze Airways (my experience, here).
If I book and fly four trips valued at $300 each, I’ll receive 12,000 miles.
My Offer:
- Book and take a trip on United or United Express® by June 5th, spending at least $300 per trip.
- Member must register for this promotion on or prior to June 5th. Only transactions initiated after registration and completed on or prior to June 5th will qualify toward satisfaction of the offer requirements.
- Registrant must complete all activity specified in the offer to receive bonus award miles. Partial bonuses for completing only certain activity will not be awarded. Bonus award miles may only be earned once.
- Trip (as defined below) booking must be made after registration.
- All flight activity for applicable Trip must be completed on or prior to June 5th.
- Each Trip must have a fare (as defined below) equal to or greater than $300.
- The final fare amount for the Trip will be used to determine satisfaction of offer requirements, including itinerary changes that result in an increase or decrease to the fare and paid upgrades that result in an increase to the fare.
- “Trip” is defined as each unique travel itinerary as documented by United with a confirmation number.

- Trip (as defined below) booking must be made after registration.
- All flight activity for applicable Trip must be completed on or prior to June 5th.
- All travel for Trip must be in a United premium cabin, including United First®, United Business® or United Polaris® business class, or in United® Premium Plus (fare classes: O, A, R, C, D, J, P and Z).

Have you been targeted for a Mile Play promotion? What did you get?
Anthony’s Take: I’m quite surprised that I was targeted (and my husband also was targeted for the first time as well). I guess United noticed that we’re not flying and wanted to try to entice us to book some flights. I’ll likely fly enough to meet this threshold and always welcome bonus points, but won’t book extra flights just to hit the promo terms.
