Porter Airlines is a Toronto-based airline that connects passengers to cities across Canada, the United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Caribbean. It just updated its schedule with three new routes between Canada and the United States. These include two routes to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and one to Nashville International Airport (BNA).

The new flights to/from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) will begin on May 14th from both Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Both routes are also operated by Air Canada 4x to 5x daily. Porter will use its 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft for these routes. The airline promises that all passengers receive “celebrity treatment with Porter’s elevated economy experience.” It offers a 2-2 seating configuration and offers a premium experience to all passengers with complimentary snacks, beer, and wine served in glassware, and free Wi-Fi. PorterReserve passengers enjoy additional benefits such as priority check-in, enhanced legroom, and fresh, healthy meals, while these features can also be purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.

Flights between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) and Nashville International Airport (BNA) will begin in May 11th. These will be operated by De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft. These have 78 seats, but do not offer Wi-Fi or outlets. Some commenters on X criticized using this aircraft for a flight this length (it takes around 2.5 hours).

Anthony’s Take: Even with tense politics still brewing between the United States and Canada, it’s good to see new routes being added between the two countries.
