This should go without saying, but the overhead bins are designed to hold carry-on baggage and not people. A viral TikTok video shows a female passenger settled in for a nap in an overhead bin on a Southwest Airlines flight. While Southwest lets you choose your own seat, this is not an option.
@abcnews Footage captured by a Southwest Airlines passenger shows a woman curled up inside an overheard bin before a flight from Albuquerque to Phoenix. The passenger who shot the video says a flight attendant found her before take-off.
The original video racked up over 5.1 million views before it was taken down. Not to worry, it was saved and reposted on TikTok many times. ABC News shared the clip above. No other details have been shared as to why this passenger climbed into the overhead bin.
Anthony’s Take: I can’t imagine that this woman stayed up there for long as the flight crew surely would object. I’m not sure what possesses people to do the things they do, but this is not a good idea.
