After years of delays, the Park Hyatt Mexico City Hotel & Residences is on track to open in 2026, marking the debut of Hyatt’s premier luxury brand in the Mexican capital. Originally announced in 2017 and then expected in 2021 debut, the hotel looks like it’s really happening.
The property has a dedicated webpage and recent construction updates from development partner SOMA Group make it feel like it’s actually coming soon. The Park Hyatt Mexico City will be located on the prestigious Campos Elíseos Street, next to the Hyatt Regency Mexico City, and overlooking the iconic Chapultepec Park. It will offer 155 guest rooms and suites, 23 luxury residences, two restaurants (or more), meeting facilities, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and a spa.
Artist renderings show a modern, sophisticated design that is consistent with the Park Hyatt brand. Details are not fully available, but I’m excited for this property to join Mexico City’s hotel choices. Mexico City has relatively few luxury properties that are tied to major loyalty programs. Marriott Bonvoy® offers the Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis Mexico City, but neither Hilton nor Hyatt have opened luxury brands in this market. The closest you’ll find is the Andaz Mexico City Condesa and that is nowhere near the level of these other brands. I stayed there this past winter and was not impressed. The room was super tiny and dark, amenities were limited, and it was more of a local scene than hotel.
Anthony’s Take: I am a fan of the Park Hyatt brand (I just stayed at the Park Hyatt Milan last night) and of Mexico City. I’m excited to check out this property in the future.
