Lufthansa is in the process of refreshing its Business Class (and other cabins). There are new seats being installed, a new menu for Business Class, and some of the lounges are getting renovated and rebranded as “Allegris.” Back in July, I wrote about the location at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) opening in July. Lufthansa met this timeline and the lounge opened this week.
The existing lounge in Terminal B closed last year for renovations. Rather than just swapping some furniture, Lufthansa set out to test its new concept with the prototype lounge based in Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The lounge was not only renovated, but also expanded to accommodate more guests. It includes a horseshoe-shaped bar, private meeting rooms, a relaxation area, and a la carte dining for First Class passengers in a separate area.
Official details have not been released, but Lufthansa’s Station Manager at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) posted an update on LinkedIn. He shared:
Today, I had the pleasure to welcome guests to our newly renovated Lufthansa lounge at EWR. A project which started a long time ago, was halted by Covid, is finally finished in the new Allegris style. More seating, more comfort, a better food & beverage offering and an overall better look. At Lufthansa we say “yes” to a premium lounge experience.”
The lounge is located in Terminal B in the B3 Concourse near Gates 60 to 68. The lounge is open daily from 2:15 PM to 9:30 PM.
Anthony’s Take: The new lounge looks great and I like that an outstation has a First Class section. Currently, you’ll only find dedicated spaces for Lufthansa passengers in Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and Munich International Airport (MUC)
