Norse Atlantic Airways is a low-cost carrier that is headquartered in Arendal, Norway. The airline began in February 2021 and flies between Europe and North America, Africa, and Asia. The airline has been cutting routes for a while now and previously had stopped serving Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). Now, five more routes are being chopped including one more US city.
@IshrionA reports that Norse Atlantic Airways has removed these routes:
- Los Angeles International Airport (JFK) to/from Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH)
- Miami International Airport (MIA) to/from London Gatwick Airport (LGW) (this was the last route to/from Miami)
- New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to/from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)
- New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to/from Oslo Airport (OSL)
- New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to/from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

With these routes removed, Norse Atlantic Airways will only fly seven US routes. These include:
- Los Angeles International Airport (JFK) to/from London Gatwick Airport (LGW)
- Los Angeles International Airport (JFK) to/from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)
- Los Angeles International Airport (JFK) to/from Leonardo da Vinci Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)
- Orlando International Airport (MCO) to/from London Gatwick Airport (LGW)
- New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to/from Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH)
- New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to/from London Gatwick Airport (LGW)
- New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to/from Leonardo da Vinci Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)
Earlier this year, the airline began layoffs and restructuring to save on costs. It appears based on these cuts that it’s not enough and you have to wonder how much longer the airline can operate as it currently does and with its current model.
Anthony’s Take: If you were looking to fly this low-cost carrier to/from Europe, you might want to act fast. With the number of cuts it seems like things are not going to well for Norse Atlantic Airways.
