United Airlines runs specials throughout the year known as MileagePlus Exclusives. These include dinners (see my experience last year at Formento’s here) as well as tickets to concerts, shows, and sporting events. Right now, United is offering a limited number of tickets for a tasting experience along the world‍-‍renowned Kentucky Bourbon Trail®.

The experience includes:

  • Tour & tasting at the Jim Beam Distillery
  • Tour & tasting at the Maker’s Mark Distillery with time to participate in the Dip Your Own Bottle experience*
  • Tasting and “thieving experience” at Bardstown Bourbon Company
  • Lunch at a local restaurant
  • Group transportation to and from distilleries
  • Kentucky Bourbon Boys driver & guide
  • Water and snacks on vehicle
  • Taxes & gratuities

Guests must be 21 years of age or older to participate. This event is on Monday, October 14th and costs 20,000 MileagePlus® miles per ticket and is open to United co-branded credit card holders.

As of writing this, there were 12 tickets left. Purchase here.

Anthony’s Take: I’ve redeemed several dinners and tickets to shows like Dear Evan Hansen. These offer a great value (especially with the ongoing devaluation of miles). I’m not a bourbon fan, but I’ll be definitely looking for more opportunities in the future.

Anthony’s Credit Card Pick: The United℠ Explorer Card is the best card for regular United flyers and one of the two United cards I hold. The annual fee is waived the first year, then it’s $95. With it, you get 2 miles per $1 spent miles per $1 spent on dining, hotel stays, and United purchases; 1 mile per $1 spent on all other qualifying purchases. Other benefits include: upgrades on award tickets for Premier® members (a benefit not offered to anyone else other than GS members), a free checked bag on every flight, up to a $100 Global Entry, TSA PreCheck® or NEXUS fee credit, a 25% statement credit on purchases made onboard (think Wi-Fi or snacks), two United Club℠ passes (annually) and priority boarding.
