Bilt is back with another Rent Day offer and again this one is nothing special. I wasn’t interested in the fitness classes last month or the March Madness offers the month before. This will be the third month where there are no transfer bonuses or travel-related promos. The focus has shifted to redeeming points for rent and then getting those points back to use for merchandise in the Bilt Collection.
Each month, Bilt makes the first of the month fun. It offers bonus opportunities, chances to win points playing a trivia game, and even a contest to win free rent (up to $2,500) for what it calls “Rent Day.” Bilt’s next Rent Day occurs today, Wednesday, May 1st. Bilt is a great program with lots of transfer partners and these Rent Day promos make it even sweeter. I am using the Bilt Mastercard® to pay rent on my winter place in Florida again and love it.
Redeem Points for Rent
This month, if you redeem Bilt points to pay your rent, you’ll be refunded 100% of those points back. These points can then only be used towards items found in the Bilt Home Collection. A minimum of 1,000 points and a maximum of 50,000 points can be applied to pay rent. To do so, you’ll need to:
- Go to the Pay Rent tab in the Bilt app by today, May 1st
- Select Pay with Points
- Choose the number of points to redeem towards rent
- Complete the transaction and you’ll be refunded the same number of points back, but these can only be used on the Bilt Home Collection (this needs to be done within six months)
In my opinion, this is not a good deal. Most of the points redemptions for merchandise seem inflated and you’re not getting the bonus opportunities that transfers to travel partners offer.
Private Dining Experiences
Bilt is offering seasonal chef’s tastings, wine pairings, Omakase experiences, and more this month with private, family-style meals. These range from 10,000 to 15,000 points (or $100 to $150) per person. Reservations became bookable for up to two people starting at 12:00 PM EST on April 26th. There are restaurants in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Seattle, and Washington DC participating. The meals all take place today, May 1st.
Bonus Points
As always, on Rent Day you can earn bonus points. These include:
- 1 point per $1 spent on rent
- 2 points per $1 spent on travel (doubles to 4 points per $1)
- 3 points per $1 spent on dining (doubles to 6 points per $1)
- 1 point per $1 for all other spend (doubles to 2 points per $1)
RentFree™
This month, Bilt is welcoming Venezuelan YouTuber and actress, Lele Pons for its new game show/contest. Bilt will pay ten people’s rent (up to $2,500) and provide the next 600 point prizes for the most guessed answers and the earliest replies. To enter, answer the question in the Bilt app and submit your answer by today, May 1st, here.
Point Quest™
Point Quest™ is Bilt’s trivia game (found in the app). You answer questions and can win up to 250 points this month.
Anthony’s Take: I look forward to the games and bonuses offered on Rent Day each month. Bilt makes paying bills fun and the points earned are valuable given the number of transfer partners that Bilt currently offers. Hopefully, next month will include a travel partner bonus.

You mention the bonus points on rent for the first of the month. Does that mean that rent paid today earns 2 points per dollar?
No. Bonus points are not given for rent payments (but are for most other things).
