Marriott Opens Its First All-Inclusive, Marriott-Branded Resort In Cancún

Marriott Hotels, the brand that started the mega portfolio of 30 international brands, is opening its first Marriott-branded all-inclusive resort in Cancún, Mexico. The new resort is located in the vacation hotspot’s Golden Zone (where you’ll find tons of other hotels and resorts).

Marriott Cancún, An All-Inclusive Resort features 450 guestrooms including 124 with ocean views and 38 suites. There are also two Presidential Suites with large balconies that overlook Cancun’s beaches to the east and views of the Nichupte Lagoon to the west. The rooms offer contemporary decor, well-designed bathrooms, and daily replenished mini bars.

The property will also offer 13 diverse dining options offering Mexican, Japanese, pizza, and more. Restaurants include the Greatroom Lobby Bar, HANA Polynesian Grill, Sacbé Beach Shack, Alice’s Tamale Ritual, and more. The resort also provides guests with access to a water park, a lazy river, and multiple pools. There is also a fitness center along with a sports bar with nightly karaoke. A 5,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor CAMP Club by Marriott will keep kids entertained with activities throughout their stay. The resort is also set to be a great destination for events and meetings with nearly 24,813 square feet of event space made up of four event rooms (including one that can accommodate up to 800 people) as well as 12 breakout rooms.

Anthony’s Take: Cancún is not my scene, but these renovations look nice. The renovation of the old Marriott Cancún into an all-inclusive property will be a welcome change for many.
