Marriott Bonvoy® and the Lufthansa Group’s Miles & More loyalty program announced a new partnership today. This new collaboration is designed to reward customer loyalty and create more ways for members of both programs to earn and enjoy rewards while traveling.
Link Your Accounts to Earn More
Starting today, Marriott Bonvoy® members can link their accounts online with Miles & More to unlock new benefits. Members will now earn Miles & More Points toward frequent flyer status on qualified stays at participating Marriott hotels. The partnership covers more than 30 Marriott brands and 10,000 destinations worldwide. This integration makes it easier than ever for frequent travelers to seamlessly accumulate rewards across both programs.
Automatic Elite Status for Miles & More Members
As part of the partnership, Miles & More members with elite status in the program will receive immediate hotel perks with Marriott. Senator Members and HON Circle Members will automatically be granted Marriott Bonvoy® Gold Elite status. This benefit comes without any additional qualifications and includes a range of benefits like room upgrades at check-in (subject to availability), late checkout, bonus points on stays, and enhanced welcome gifts.
Under this partnership, Marriott Bonvoy® members can now earn 40 Miles & More Points per qualified stay, with a cap of 120 Points per year. These bonus Points are awarded in addition to the regular Marriott Bonvoy® points or Miles & More miles members already earn from their stays. This accelerates progress toward higher Miles & More status tiers, which unlock even more exclusive benefits such as additional baggage allowances, lounge access, and priority services when flying.
This new collaboration between Marriott Bonvoy® and Miles & More brings two of the world’s most recognized travel brands together to create a unified rewards experience. Marriott Bonvoy® members gain a faster path to earning airline status through hotel stays. Miles & More elite members enjoy instant recognition and perks at thousands of Marriott hotels worldwide.
Satya Anand, President of Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, said:
Marriott Bonvoy® and Miles & More each represent excellence in their respective spheres — hospitality and aviation. This partnership is a fantastic alignment of two trusted names, united by a shared commitment to enriching the travel experience. Together, we are unlocking distinctive benefits for our members, offering them greater flexibility, recognition, and reward.”
Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group, added:
Our groundbreaking partnership with Marriott Bonvoy® opens up an entirely new world of experiences for our customers. This milestone marks an important step in our comprehensive loyalty strategy, which focuses on exclusive travel and lifestyle benefits. By offering our members privileged access to one of the world’s leading hotel loyalty programs, we are creating a truly unique value proposition—strengthening customer loyalty for both partners.”
Anthony’s Take: Marriott has been great at striking similar deals with United Airlines, Emirates, and others in the past. Now, Lufthansa is in the mix. This will add a lot of new travelers checking out Marriott properties and Gold Elite status will not ruffle the feathers of higher-tier elites who might fear their benefits are being diluted.
