While traveling home from a conference this week, I had the chance to visit one of my favorite United Clubs℠. The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) location is one of the best in my opinion. It’s spacious, has a good buffet, and plenty of space including a nice outdoor terrace.

Access

Access is granted for those with United Club℠ memberships, day passes from Chase co-branded credit cards or purchased for $59, Global Services® members, United passengers with Gold or higher status traveling internationally, international Business or First Class passengers traveling on a Star Alliance flight, and Star Alliance Gold members regardless of class flown. You can find more information about these lounges and their access rules here. When you enter, credentials are checked at the desk to the right.

An escalator is to the left of the desk to take you up a level to the lounge.

Anthony’s Take: This lounge measures around 20,000 square feet and seemed even more spacious since the nearby Polaris® Lounge opened to funnel that traffic out of it. I love the availability of seats and the outdoor terrace. The food, while not as good as what you’ll find in the Delta SkyClubs®, is better than most of what United offers and a good selection was provided during my visit.

Bar

A bar is situated near the buffet and outdoor terrace. It’s a big space with lots of seats. There is a variety of paid and complimentary beer, wine, and spirits here. The free offerings are pretty basic, but the paid selections are not badly priced.

Food

The food in the United Clubs℠ has improved over the past few years and is even better than it was pre-Covid. This lounge raises that bar even higher than many locations. There are multiple areas with snacks and drinks as well as one long buffet. This area has everything from sandwiches to soup to salads and a few hot entrees, plus cookies and other desserts.

Seating & Decor

There are lots of seating configurations throughout including workstations, chairs, and some tables near the buffet. It was not too busy when I visited. Decor is pretty limited throughout the lounge, but the huge windows make up for it.

Overall Impression:

This United Club℠ is one of my favorites in the airline’s network of lounges. It’s big and comfortable with elevated food and a great atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.
