After spending some time in Copenhagen and Malmö, we were off to London. Before our SAS flight from Copenhagen International Airport, we had some time to check out the lovely (and huge) SAS Lounge. SAS currently operates seven lounges across five airports with all of them in Europe except a location at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The SAS Lounge at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) closed on October 31st (review here).
Access
Access is granted to passengers flying in Business Class or First Class on SAS or other SkyTeam airlines. EuroBonus Gold or Diamond members and SkyTeam Elite Plus members plus one guest are allowed in regardless of the cabin they’re flying in that day. Day passes can be purchased for $55 to $59. A same-day boarding pass is required to enter the SAS Lounge. When entering the lounge, there is a desk to check boarding passes straight ahead as well as several self-serve lanes.
Anthony’s Take: I was quite impressed with the size and quality of the SAS Lounge. It offered a tasty buffet, tons of seating, and a calming Scandinavian design. The lounge is spread across two floors and even when it’s busy it does not feel overcrowded.
Bar
There is a self-serve bar with wine, liquor, beer, coffee, and soft drinks found near the buffet area on the lower level.

There is also a coffee bar on the upper level of the lounge.

Food
Lunch/dinner was being served during our visit. There is a buffet with several hot dishes, salads, cold cuts, cheese, soup, and salad ingredients on each floor.
This cheese was delicious and fun to slice.

Seating & Decor
The lounge has a ton of seats across the two levels and a Scandinavian design with light woods and a minimalist feel. It was fairly empty during our visit.
Seating was in all sorts of configurations across multiple rooms.
I liked the airplane near the entrance.
The lounge was decorated for Christmas during our visit.
Workstations were in the back (along with a printer).
Amenities
This lounge offers free Wi-Fi, a children’s room, and the food and beverages mentioned above. There are also restrooms and showers here.
Service desks were near the exit.
A children’s room was up front.
Departure boards
Conference rooms were in the back of the lower level. These can be rented.
I liked the staircase in the middle of the lounge.
Overall Impression:
This lounge was a great surprise. I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the buffet and space was, overall. This is a nice place to spend some time before a flight and I hope to return soon. Just make sure to leave some time before your flight as the lounge is before immigration.
