I first wrote about the Provisions by Admirals Club℠ back in August when it opened at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Unlike traditional lounges designed for extended stays, Provisions by Admirals Club℠ is built for efficiency and high-traffic volume. This is the same concept that United has debuted in Denver International Airport (DEN) and Houston’s George Bush International Airport (IAH) with its United Club℠ Fly lounges (reviews here and here). While connecting in Charlotte today, I swung by to check out the new offering.

The lounge measures around 2,000 square feet and is located in Concourse A (near Gate A1). It offers prepackaged to-go items for travel ease. Breakfast is served from 6:15 AM to 11:00 AM daily. It features light bites including pastries, snack mixes, yogurt, and fruit (along with more substantial breakfast meal boxes). All day offerings are served from 11:00 AM to 10:45 PM daily. These feature a mix of salty snacks, sweet treats, and meal boxes. Vegetarian options are available at all open hours. A beverage station allows for travelers to grab canned and bottled beverages, coffee, and tea. An attendant is on site to regulate guest consumption. This is good because I have witnessed travelers load up bags at the United locations.

Provisions by Admirals Club℠ is all in one room. After having your credentials checked at the front desk, you head in and find some snacks on the left, seating in the middle, and coffee on the far wall. A station with several refrigerated cases is where you’ll find the more substantial food and to-go beverages.
Anthony’s Take: I love the concept of gran-and-go lounges. These are great when you do not have time to sit down and relax or work. American gets kudos for offerings a nice variety of options and keeping the space looking great. I took a charcuterie plate on my flight and I’m happy I had it.
Access
Provisions by Admirals Club℠ lounge offers the same access as the Admirals Club® lounges. Drinks
The lounge offered cans of soda, bottled water, and juice in a refrigerated cases behind the counter with an attendant to distribute them.

There was also drip coffee and hot water along with tea and condiments on the back wall.

This was self serve.

A menu detailed some of the breakfast options.
Food
Next to the cold beverages (pictured above)you’ll find several cases with grab-and-go food. All you have to do is tell the attendant what you would like and they will bag it up.

The opposite wall held some packaged snacks.

Nature’s Bakery Bars

Blueberry Muffins

Bananas and snacks

Cheese Danish

Kind Bars

Seating
There is limited seating in this lounge along the window and only one table to have a quick snack while standing near the front. I did not take a picture of the seats as it was crowded by the window.
Anthony’s Take: Provisions by Admirals Club℠ is a great addition to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). I love the convenience of this lounge and hope that American opens more in other airports. This is the spot to go if you’re flying American, have access, and need something quick to eat and drink.
