Coming home from our time in Corfu and Albania, we had some time to check out the Goldair Handling Lounge at Corfu International Airport “Ioannis Kapodistrias” (CFU). It’s a nice space and was relatively empty during our visit. We found some comfy seats and had lunch before boarding our flight to Manchester Airport (MAN).
The lounge is located opposite Gate 5 and one level up from departures.
These stairs will greet you for access. I have to assume that there is an elevator, but we could not find it and were traveling light enough that this worked out fine.
Access
A desk is the first thing you see and where you’ll verify access. The attendant welcomed us and asked for boarding passes and my Priority Pass card. She also told us that the lounge has a maximum time limit of three hours per visit. We were departing in an hour, but something to note if you’re really early.
We were also handed cards for the Wi-Fi.
Anthony’s Take: The lounge feels modern and we were surprised at how empty it was during our visit. We had our pick of seats and only saw a handful of other guests. The Goldair Handling Lounge offers a small buffet, drinks, and pretty speedy Wi-Fi. There aren’t other amenities, but it was all we needed before our flight.
Bar
There is a self-serve bar in the center of the room with liquor and wine.
I love when buffets offer ice. I know it’s an American want, but it makes me happy.
Beer and soft drinks are in a refrigerator nearby.
A coffee machine is on the counter above the drink cases.
Food
Lunch was being served during our visit. Food is found on a buffet further into the lounge. This was limited, but included sandwiches, yogurt, snacks, and some desserts. Juice was also found here.
The sandwiches were tasty and just what I needed before my flight.
Fresh fruit, snacks, and desserts
Some cookies were located near the coffee machine.
Seating & Decor
As mentioned above, the lounge was not crowded when we were there. There are tables and chairs around the space in different configurations, but decor is limited to a few plants. Outlets were plentiful throughout the lounge. It feels clean and modern. I liked spending time in the space and would return when flying from this airport.

Amenities
This lounge offers free Wi-Fi and the food and beverages mentioned above. The Wi-Fi was speedy and I was able to do some work while we waited.
Overall Impression:
This lounge is a clean, comfortable and a good space to relax or work before a flight. I was surprised at how empty it was, but enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Seems passable for a small airport and maybe it’s just me but the name seems somehow off. “Handling” lounge sounds like a place you keep not-quite-prisoners or pack gropers together.
