In October 2023, I wrote about LOT Polish Airlines opening a lounge in Terminal 5 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) in late 2024. This will be the Star Alliance carrier’s first lounge outside of Europe and from the looks of the page on its website will be open in the near future.

Chicago is a key destination in the United States for LOT Polish with a heavy concentration of Polish-Americans there. LOT offers flights between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and both Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) and John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice (KRK).

LOT Polish Lounge 3

The new lounge will measure around 6,641 square feet and is being designed with Polish touches such as amber.  The space will provide great views of the airport apron and offer three zones: relaxation, work, and catering (dining). The work zone will offer work spaces and charging stations. In what LOT calls the catering zone, passengers will be able to dine on a range of food and beverages including some Polish products. The relaxation zone will be quiet, darkened, and separated from the other areas for those passengers looking to relax.

LOT Polish Lounge 1

The lounge will be open to LOT Polish Business Class passengers as well as Star Alliance Gold members. It’s a welcome addition for Star Alliance members as the current Swissport Lounge (review here) is pretty bad. Delta and SkyTeam flyers have become spoiled with the gorgeous Sky Club® in Terminal 5 (full review here) and recently the addition of the SAS Lounge (review here) after it switched alliances earlier this year.

Anthony’s Take: I look forward to checking out this new lounge. LOT has offered an okay Business Class in the past, but it looks like it’s stepping up the game with an announcement around new Business Class seats for its 787s made last year.

Great to see. Besides Polaris the Chicago lounges are pretty mediocre.
