I just returned from Lake Como and was about two months shy of being able to stay at this upcoming property. The Lake Como EDITION is in Cadenabbia. This is a prime location for taking the ferry to Bellagio and exploring the gorgeous Villa Carlotta and its sprawling gardens. The hotel is taking reservations for stays starting on September 9th.

Lake Como EDITION 5

The former Hotel Britannia Excelsior Lake Como has undergone an extensive renovation to convert it from a faded 19th century inn to a beautiful, luxe lakefront property. The former hotel had 200 rooms, but the EDITION will have 145 when it opens. Rooms range from 269 to 484 square feet while suites measure between 527 and 549 square feet.

Lake Como EDITION 3

Amenities include a fitness center, a floating pool overlooking Lake Como, a spa, and two dining establishments including Renzo (an Italian restaurant in partnership with Chef Mauro Colagreco) and The Pool (for food and drinks by the floating pool).

Lake Como EDITION 4

The hotel will be open for a limited time this fall with a scheduled seasonal close of October 30th. It will then reopen on March 10th for the 2026 season.

Ritz-Carlton Lake Como

It’s exciting that Marriott is bringing hotels to the area. The Lake Como Edition is one of two that should be bookable next summer. The Ritz-Carlton Lake Como Bellagio is slated to open next year as well. We saw the Hotel Grand Bretagne (not to be confused with the one in Athens) under construction when we roamed around Bellagio earlier this month.

Anthony’s Take: I’m excited for both of these properties. I mainly stay with Marriott and Hyatt and the choices were limited. The Sheraton is a nice property, but not as luxe as what is coming.
