Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler: New Orleans Gets Two New Boutique Hyatt Options

Last year, I wrote about two properties in New Orleans being refreshed and joining World of Hyatt®. These two hotels will provide guests in New Orleans options close to Bourbon Street and the Caesars Superdome. After a rebrand and renovations, Maison Métier is now part of The Unbound Collection and The Barnett has joined JdV by Hyatt.

This hotel is located in a 1908 building with the feel of a Parisian luxury guesthouse mixed with contemporary furnishings. There are 67 rooms and suites in this boutique property. The salon-style bar, formerly known as Bar Marilou, maintains its partnership with Paris-based Quixotic Projects to continue offering creative cocktails and dishes.

The Barnett pays homage to the building’s long history as Barnett’s Furniture Store, which was a local mom-and-pop fixture of the neighborhood. The hotel brings Art Deco and French Modernism influences to the Warehouse District and features a live music venue. The hotel’s dining options will also be reimagined with the exception of the Seaworthy restaurant, which will remain under the same brand and culinary leadership. The 234-room property was rebranded from the Ace Hotel.

Anthony’s Take: New Orleans is a great city, but I have not been in love with the Hyatt or Marriott options in some time. These hotels both look charming and I’d love to check out both in the future.
