Hyatt announced plans to open the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley back in November 2023. The resort is the first luxury hotel within the new Deer Valley East Village. It offers 381 rooms including 40 suites and 55 private residences.
The project has been in development for some time and was previously known as the “Mayflower Resort” before it was branded as part of the Hyatt portfolio. The property is also the first luxury alpine village of its kind in North America since 1981.
Amenities include a heated pool, whirlpool, fitness center, kids club, and game room as well as multiple restaurants and bars. For meetings and events, the property offers a total of 30,000 square feet of meeting space with a 10,000-square-foot ballroom included in this number. It’s said to be the largest in Park City. The real draw here is the direct access that this hotel will provide to Deer Valley Resort. Guests will soon be able to utilize 16 new ski lifts and a 10-passenger gondola to get to 235 ski runs across 10 mountain peaks.
As to be expected with a ski resort, peak rates run around $900 per night. World of Hyatt point redemptions range from 21,000 to 29,000 for a standard room. This is a Category 6 property within Hyatt’s classification system.
Anthony Duggan, Area Vice President and General Manager of Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, said:
Grand Hyatt Deer Valley proudly welcomes visitors and the local community to experience this transformative moment for both the ski industry and the region. We’re committed to continuing to foster connections with local businesses and organizations, and together, we’ll offer our guests truly authentic experiences that highlight the best that our destination has to offer—from premium accommodations to exceptional dining and unforgettable outdoor adventures.”
To celebrate the grand opening of the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley today, the property is offering a Grand Opening Offer for qualifying stays now through March 31st. This package offers a $200 resort credit and a limited-edition swag bag of items valued at $250. This includes branded “First Tracks” mugs, beanies, and scarves. As with all new hotels in the World of Hyatt program, members can earn 500 bonus points for qualifying nights from today (November 20th) through February 28, 2025.
Anthony’s Take: I stayed at the luxurious Montage Deer Valley years ago when I was in Park City for a conference. Although I’m not a skier, I enjoyed working by the fire and hanging out indoors while the snow fell. I could see this hotel offering the same serene winter experience for someone who does not like the cold.
