Back in August, I wrote about how JetBlue was expanding its Florida network with daily, year-round flights from New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB). Those flights take off for the first time today, December 4th.
By adding Daytona Beach to its growing list of Florida destinations, JetBlue continues to deepen its footprint in one of its most important leisure markets. The new routes give travelers from New York and Boston an additional option for reaching coastal Florida, a region known for its beaches, motorsports events, golf courses, and year-round warm weather. This launch comes as JetBlue is adding many new leisure destinations including several others in Puerto Rico (more here) and Florida (more here).

Flights on these new routes will be operated using JetBlue’s Airbus A220 aircraft with 140 seats, free unlimited Fly-Fi, seatback entertainment, as well as complimentary snacks and beverages. To celebrate the launch, JetBlue is offering introductory fares starting at $59 one-way for flights on both routes.
Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships, said:
Florida is a cornerstone of JetBlue’s network and we’re proud to continue expanding across the state. With Daytona Beach, we’re adding another great option for customers seeking anything from a relaxing coastal getaway to thrilling adventures at the track.”
Anthony’s Take: It’s good to see JetBlue focusing on what made the airline what it was at its most successful: leisure routes to sunny destinations. Here’s hoping it continues to focus on Florida, Puerto Rico, and other markets where it can see some wins.
