Back in May, I wrote about a bunch of new routes, frequency changes, and additions of JetBlue’s Mint service to more routes. Today, one of those routes took off from New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and is en route to Argyle International Airport (SVD) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
JetBlue will fly its Airbus A320 2x weekly on this new route. The aircraft has 42 Even More Space and 108 Core (Economy Class) seats. Caribbean Airlines also flies this route 2x weekly. JetBlue touts itself as “New York’s Hometown Airline ® ,” and it will be the first US carrier to offer nonstop service from New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and it’s en route to Argyle International Airport (SVD). The airline has an impressive network of tropical destinations and serves 26 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
David Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue, said:
We are thrilled to welcome St. Vincent and the Grenadines—an enchanting destination known for its unspoiled nature, sky-blue waters and stunning landscapes—to our growing network and offer our customers even more travel options. This new service demonstrates our commitment to connecting our customers to in-demand vacation locations and introducing our award-winning service and low fares to new markets.”
Anthony’s Take: JetBlue is still licking its wounds after the failed takeover of Spirit and the dissolution of the Northeast Alliance with American Airlines. It’s great to see new routes launching.
