JetBlue is Puerto Rico’s largest airline. It’s continuing to grow with the introduction of five new nonstop routes from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU). Beginning in spring 2026, travelers will be able to fly year-round to/from Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF), Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), Norfolk International Airport (ORF), Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), and Richmond International Airport (RIC). The move strengthens JetBlue’s long-established commitment to Puerto Rico and deepens a 23-year connection that spans air service, economic investment, and community partnerships.
With these new flights now available for purchase, JetBlue is offering introductory fares starting at $99 one-way. The airline continues to operate more seats and serve more mainland US destinations from Puerto Rico than any other carrier. Its network includes service to/from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU), Aguadilla’s Rafael Hernández Airport (BQN), and Ponce’s Mercedita International Airport (PCE).
Once the new routes launch, JetBlue will offer flights to 22 nonstop destinations from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) (more than any other airline) and is projected to operate over 40 daily departures next spring. The expansion highlights JetBlue’s ongoing strategy to enhance connectivity for both residents and visitors.
The latest announcement follows a period of steady growth for JetBlue in Puerto Rico. The airline recently expanded its San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) to/from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) route to 6x daily flights during peak periods to accommodate rising demand between South Florida and the island.
JetBlue’s investment in Puerto Rico extends beyond air service. Since launching service to San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in 2002, the airline has become deeply integrated in the island’s cultural and economic landscape. Nearly 800 crewmembers live and work across Puerto Rico and the carrier maintains a growing pilot and inflight crew base as well as a robust maintenance operation. For more than two decades, JetBlue’s affordable fares and customer-focused service have made it the preferred airline for many Puerto Rican travelers.

In tandem with the route expansion, JetBlue and the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC) have renewed their longstanding partnership through a new Cooperative Marketing Agreement. This initiative aims to support air service growth and stimulate travel demand to and from the island. Backed by PRTC’s marketing investment, the agreement will promote JetBlue’s expanding network across Puerto Rico (including routes connecting San Juan, Ponce, and Aguadilla with key cities along the East Coast and in Florida). The joint campaign will utilize targeted digital advertising, email marketing, and integrated destination branding to strengthen competitiveness in priority markets. The renewed partnership reflects a shared commitment to boosting tourism, supporting economic development, and ensuring long-term route sustainability.
JetBlue continues to invest in Puerto Rican communities through meaningful collaborations with local organizations and cultural initiatives. The airline regularly highlights Puerto Rican artists through special aircraft liveries and supports youth-focused nonprofit groups. Recent efforts include work with the Ricky Martin Foundation and other community partners. These initiatives further emphasize JetBlue’s dedication to celebrating Puerto Rico’s people, creativity, and future.
Marty St. George, JetBlue’s President, said:
Puerto Rico has shaped JetBlue’s identity for more than two decades. Our newest routes only deepen our commitment to the island and the communities that have been part of JetBlue’s story since 2002. We’re proud to continue investing in Puerto Rico and creating more travel opportunities for customers across our growing network.”
Anthony’s Take: With its five new nonstop routes, expanded partnerships, and continued community engagement, JetBlue is strengthening its role as a vital connector between Puerto Rico and the mainland United States. As the airline prepares for its next chapter of growth on the island, travelers can expect more accessibility, more choices, and deeper integration between JetBlue and the Puerto Rican communities it serves.
