We’ve visited Greece eight times before and always enjoyed both the mainland and many of the islands. This time, we’re headed to Corfu (in the northwestern corner of the country) and taking the ferry over to Sarande in Albania. I’ve never been to either of these locales and am open to tips, must-dos, etc.
We’re getting there in a bit of a roundabout way as I snagged a flight deal in the beginning of the year to take a fifth-freedom route on Singapore Airlines. The rest of the trip was built off of those flights. The trip will have an interesting mix of luxury and low-cost carriers. I’ll report back on everything.

I used HotelSlash to book a room at Hotel Iliria in Sarande a couple of years ago; but I have not written an article on it yet. I had a great view of Corfu and the sea. The room cost me less than $40 for the night in total; and breakfast was included. A nice older couple runs Hotel Iliria, which is not a large place. I highly recommend it.
