IHG Hotels & Resorts returns to the US Open Tennis Championships for the sixth year as the official hotel partner and hotel loyalty program. This year, it’s serving up something that tennis fans might love (meaning actually strongly like and not a zero score in tennis).
The IHG Rally Room is a suite that is a tennis lover’s dream (and a nightmare for folks who hate fluorescent colors). IHG Hotels & Resorts surveyed people on whether tennis balls were yellow or green. It discovered 56% of Americans believe a tennis ball is yellow, while 44% think it’s green. The tennis-ball-themed suite caters to both sides of the debate with one half featuring bright green décor and the other half striking yellow.
The Yellow Side
- Yellow décor, such as a mini tennis ball-filled lamp and a yellow rug
- Retro charm with a classic yellow telephone and clock
- Vibrant yellow high-top sneakers, a baseball cap, and a tennis racquet for guests to elevate their US Open look
The Green Side
- Bright green décor, including a mini tennis ball-filled lamp, a green rug, and green throw pillow and blankets
- A candy bowl filled with green candies
- Electric green low-top sneakers, a visor, and a tennis racquet to offer the ultimate tennis-themed look
Connor Smith, VP of Masterbrand & Partnerships at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said:
Whether a tennis ball is green or yellow is up to our guests to decide. We love how the ‘IHG Rally Room’ taps into this fun conversation at a time when all eyes are on tennis during the US Open, where IHG is a proud, longstanding partner.”
This exclusive suite is available at the Kimpton Hotel Eventi in New York City and Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown. It can be booked starting today for stays beginning August 26th for two-night stays throughout the two weeks of the US Open main draw. To reserve the suite, email ExperienceIHG@ihg.com. Occupancy is limited and subject to availability.
Anthony’s Take: I might be blinded by this bright room, but my husband (who is a tennis nut) would love to stay here. I bet reservations will be tough to snag, but if you’re interested don’t wait.
