Hyatt Hotels Corporation has entered into a franchise agreement with JUEL Hospitality Limited to develop the 160-room Hyatt Centric Malta. The hotel is slated to open in early 2024 and it will be the second Hyatt property in Malta (the other is the Hyatt Regency Malta in St. Julian’s, which opened in 2021).
The hotel will offer on-site dining, a rooftop terrace featuring local fare, an indoor and outdoor pool, a fitness center, and over 4,300 square feet of meeting space. No renderings or images have been released yet.
The Hyatt Centric Malta will be within walking distance to some of Malta’s pristine beaches and vibrant entertainment scene. It’s also 20 minutes from the capital city, Valletta, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
This will be Hyatt’s seventh Centric property in Europe. The others include:

- Hyatt Centric Levent Istanbul
- Hyatt Centric Milan Centrale
- Hyatt Centric Murano Venice
- Hyatt Centric The Liberties Dublin
Anthony’s Take: It’s been many years since I was last in Malta. It’s a great holiday destination with beaches, culture, history, and more. It’s been on my list to head back and the Hyatt Centric could be a good option.
