The James NoMad Hotel has rebranded itself as the Hotel Seville NoMad and joining The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. The hotel is home to the fabulous Scarpetta restaurant and offers a great location. I’m excited to see this one join World of Hyatt®.
The Hotel Seville NoMad is located in NoMad (which stands for North of Madison Square Park). I used to work in the neighborhood and the location is convenient for getting just about anywhere in Manhattan. The hotel will showcase a renovation to its interior while maintaining its historic beaux-arts exterior. As part of the remodel, all 348 guest rooms and suites are being refreshed. The hotel was originally constructed in 1903 and the building is gorgeous.
As mentioned, Scarpetta is located on site. The restaurant blends rustic Italian tradition with refined presentation featuring locally sourced ingredients.
The hotel also offers a hidden speakeasy called the Seville that features a rotating roster of live jazz and DJ sets as well as Il Bar (which debuted earlier this year) as a new guest gathering space in the lobby with creative cocktails and small bites. Other amenities are limited, but there is a fitness center.
Tommasi Moccia, General Manager of Hotel Seville NoMad, said:
Hotel Seville NoMad bridges New York’s storied past and its elevated present, offering a dynamic destination where timeless elegance meets modern luxury. Whether locals are stopping in for expertly crafted cocktails and sophisticated dishes or visitors from across the globe are seeking a refined stay, we look forward to offering our guests an unforgettable experience in the heart of New York City.”
The Hotel Seville Nomad is currently bookable through World of Hyatt®. While cash rates are not cheap (generally over $500 per night), award bookings are reasonable with rates between 21,000 and 29,000 points per night. World of Hyatt® classifies the hotel as a Category 6 property.
Anthony’s Take: I’m excited to stay at this hotel. I know exactly where it is and have dined at Scarpetta before (excellent restaurant). Glad to see it now part of World of Hyatt® and refreshed to showcase its classic elegance.
